Learn What You Need to Make a Collage

Hi, my name is Lanie Evans and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to let you know it's not hard to make a collage. It's really easy. Basically anything that you can glue down, becomes a collage. I don't know if you know this, Picasso and George Brock started collage back in the 20s I believe. It basically comes from a French word meaning "Glue". So let's get started and look at the some of the things we can glue down. Here you can use anything like wrapping paper, any kind of tissue papers. Old family photos, you can make a collage from them. Magazines are great. You can even use things like flower petals or leaves. Also I found some really great old books that people discarded that nobody seems to want and they have this beautiful discoloration and you can use things like this as well as a background or pieces of collage. You can also use things like paint samples or swatches. Old family recipes are great to save and make into a collage and you can also use letters or things from your children and incorporate into some artwork.
