How to Seal Grout
Today we’re going to be sealing grout that we have reapplied in between the bathtub tiles. You want to seal it so it won’t mold or mildew or won’t start to flake out. What I use is a penetrating sealer and stone enhancer. The stuff is so pricey that you want to buy something you can use on all your tile. A sealer and enhancer or you can get just a sealer.

You just want to follow the directions in the back and you want to make sure that it’s between fifty and a hundred degrees. And definitely no less than fifty because it will do really bad things to your tile- grout, really. You just want to make sure that it’s all dry. And you want to take some of the sealer and pour it on the sponge and let it soak in a little bit, and then just wipe it onto the tile. Want to make sure to cover everything. This might form a little film on your tile that looks a little darker that will go away as it dries. Just make sure you seal it all really nice and well. You don’t need to put two coats on it- one is plenty. When this dries, you want to wipe over it with just a neutral cleaner- like dishwashing detergent or a bar of soap on a sponge or something afterwards and then it’ll be fine. You do need to let it dry for a good day- like a day or night- that should be fine. And that’s how you would seal your tile.
