Adhering Mosaic Pattern Pieces
Hi, I’m Faith and I’m here at Flat Fork Studio, and I’m going to show you how to adhere my mosaic pattern pieces to my final piece. I’m wanting to place these patterns on top of this piece. First of all, this is a piece of plywood- just a small piece- I’m going to use it as a small end table in my home. So basically what I do is draw this in quadrants so that I get a rough idea of where I’m going to place my patterns. Then I just simply take my pieces that I adhered earlier onto mesh, fiberglass mesh with liquid nails, and I’m going to just start arranging them. I’m going to dry arrange them, which means I’m not going to stick them down yet. And I’m just going to kind of play with it and see what kind of patterns I come up with. This looks nice. So we kind of have some off set contrasting colors which make a real pleasing design. And the next thing that I have to fill in are these little pieces. I’ve chosen green just because there’s a little bit of green in here and also I think that the green goes well with this dark brown plate pattern that I have here. And I basically just kind of dry arrange them into a pattern like this. And that’s how you would arrange the tiles for your dry mount before you’re ready to put them down permanently.
