If you try to roll it in both directions, it usually flattens out and then it sounds like a flat tire as you try to roll it. Alright, this could be thinner, but I am going to attach this just to show you how you would start. Score the area that you are going to attach it to. Okay, and then put some slip on it and score this part of the coil that you are going to attach, put slip on that area too. If you do it on both surfaces, it will give you nice strong bond between the two surfaces and then press down gently and then you go all the way around. I did not score all of it, but you get the idea that you have to score everything and then you can keep going up and up and up in whatever direction you would like to go and once that is done, then you would cut the excess clay off the bottom. With enough care and practice, you can make a nice pot like this that would be good for holding envelopes or even as a planter.
