The next thing I'm going to tell you about is background stamping. I love using background stamps. They are a quick and easy way to fill a card with a beautiful design, any texture, and dimension. First one I'm going to use a real pretty bird and swirl design. There's a couple of ways to do these. When I have large stamps, I like to set the large stamp down, take my ink pad, hold it upside down, and ink it up. This way I can see at a glance if I have ink everywhere. If I've missed a spot, I can just go back give it a nice little tap, and I'm good to go. From here, there's a couple of different techniques. I like to place my stamp down, put my cardstock on top, fold my paper over, and then just give it a rub with the back of my hand. You're holding it as you do this so you don't smear and your paper doesn't get out of your way. Then when you've done that, just peel your paper back and there's your beautiful design. That's one quick and easy way to do background stamping.
Hey Janet - that's a great tip I've not seen before! Kate
