How to Prepare Stamps for Stamping

Alright, I've got my wooden block and I have my stamps all cut out and ready to go. I'm going to go ahead and mount them down there and press them down. Before I put him in use, I want to test him. The reason why I always test mine first is because I'm human. I put things upside down. I've had words upside down. I've had designs backwards and stuff, so what I like to do is while it's fresh here is go ahead and ink it up. Using my scrap piece of paper in front of me and give it a test run. I'm stamping it and he looks good. He's in the right direction. I have no lines outside of where my image should be, so this is a good stamp and ready to go. I'll do this after I've cut out every single stamp. I'll test them. It takes a little bit of extra time, but you'll like it when you don't make a mistake in the future. Peel off your sticker, go ahead, and place that on the back of your block. I know a lot of my friends is what they like to do is before they peel off their stickers is Xerox this whole sheet and place it on the lid of their stamp set. That way they can see at a glance what kind of stamps are in their set. You also get a label for you set, and I like to put that right on the edge of my stamp set. At a quick glance, I can look over at my stack and see which stamp set I'm looking for. Stamps can be a lot of fun. Mount them right and you'll have a great time doing all of your projects.
