Adding Rice to Jambalaya

Hi! This is Dave from expertvillage.com. We’re cooking some jambalaya here. We’re just about ready to add the rice. What you want to know is how much stock you put in—that was important you know how many cups—because you also want to put, if you are using instant rice like this, you want to use one to one. So, we put in 20 cups of stock, and so now we are put in 20 cups of this rice. You can use full uncooked rice if you would like, that takes a quite a bit longer to do. It takes more simmering, excellent though. Creole roll is a perfect one from New Orleans area, but again I’m going to add this to the simmering pot, stir that in, make sure that it is well incorporated, that there are no kernels above the liquid and cook uniformly. So, give that a good stir, already it’s getting thick. Now what you want to do is instant rice, you will turn off the heat completely, and you want to put the lid on and so you got them covered. It should take about 5 minutes for the rice to cook.
