REBECCA SATO: Hi. I'm Rebecca Sato with ExpertVillage.com, and what we're going to talk about is the writing market. What kind of writing jobs are out there? Because even as a freelancer, there's a lot of different things you can specialize in or you can focus on if you're more interested in that versus another market. A common one that a lot of freelance writers must start with is copywriting. And that's basically you're writing a copy for clients that sell their products or services, and they might have that on their pamphlets or on their Web site. Basically, it's just anything that is going to sell what that company wants you to sell. For example, I've done copywriting selling mascara and blush to women. And I had to know my client, what they wanted, and I had to know the market, and I did my research and I did a good job. And there's nothing wrong with copywriting. Some writers can be snooty about it but, oh, you know, you're selling out. Well, that's ridiculous. Every writer is selling their product even if you're writing an epic novel. You have to sell that novel. We're all selling, but we're selling our services. So copywriting is a great place to start and some people love it and they make a lot of money, and they stay there and that's what they want to do. And then there are other things like ghostwriting. Ghostwriting is where you are going to write a novel for somebody else, and we're going to talk about that next.
