How to Remove Sweat Marks from a Horse

Hi, this is Mara Keith-Hunter for Expert Village. Today we would be talking about how to groom a horse. After riding it is important to rebrush the horse to get rid of any scuff marks that the tact has caused. We are going to start by targeting the places on the face where the bridle has cause sweat. So we are going to start by getting the area around the ear where the bridle band has made a sweat mark. Then down around the nose where the nose band is. If your horse has a flat nose band it is important to get this lower area around the muzzle. This is a soft brush. We are going to switch to a hard brush to focus on the other area of the body where the saddle has come in contact. So you want to make sure to brush this entire middle area and really focus down here where the girth causes sweat. If you don't then the dry sweat can cause irritation.
