How to Apply Coat Polishes to a Horse

Hi, this is Mara Keith-Hunter for Expert Village. Today we would be talking about how to groom a horse. We are going to work is using varies coat polishes and detangler to give your horse that extra shine. So there is a couple, there is many different options really for coat polishes. The 2 items that I have here is just a basic. The way that we are going to do is just spray on the area that you want it. You want to make sure that you don't spray the saddle area because your saddle might slip right off. That is how slick these products can make your horse. So we are just going to spray a thin mist on, on the area that is not going to have a saddle. Then you are going to use either a soft brush or a towel to just make them evenly applied. You can put them anywhere down on there legs. You don't want to spray it on there face but you can put it on the brush and then brush there face. This is cowboy magic and we are going to use this on there tail. This is going to make it easier to get out all the big knots. So I'm rubbing it on my hands. Then we are going to come over and I would start by putting it on the ends. Then you can kind of work it out. You can see it is starting to be a little shiny.
