How to Organize Books by Size

Hi! I'm Jennifer Kimball and one behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to organize and maintain your book collection. If your idea of having an organized bookshelf is based more on aesthetics versus being able to find a particular book, then you might want to go with a different type of organization, which is by size. This works well if you have a bunch of different books that are approximately the same size. If you have lots of taller books and then you have a bunch of shorter books, and then you have some mid size books. The main thing is having lots of books that are about the same size. This works well if you're going for an overall aesthetic look. If you want to take that one-step further, you can also create dust jackets for all of your books so that they're all the same color on the outside, but that might be taking it a bit far. This also works well if you have a bookshelf that has set spaces in between the shelves that you cannot change. If you have some spaces that are smaller than others, it might make a lot more sense to keep your books grouped by size rather than in alphabetical method or by subject manner. Even within the different shelves, you can still have a different type of order. You can still have a different order. You can have them alphabetical within those shelves. That depends more on your personal preference. Dividing books up by size is a great way to organize your books for aesthetic purposes.
