Hi, I'm Melina Piroso and welcome to Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make cute little bag out of regular everyday fabrics. In this step we're going to make the strap for our bag. So right now we're changing the color of our thread because the strap is blue and we definitely can't disguise yellow among blue. First, I'm going to take two pieces of our strap material and we're going to put them front sides facing. In other words the side, the side that is the outside, we're going to put them both facing each other. And we're going to put, put it under the machine. And we're just going to sew, briefly sew it together. And then, you're going to do the same thing one more time. We're going to sew on another end. Like sides facing together. You can measure again. And again you don't have to do any of this if you already had a really long piece of fabric but assuming that you don't. Ok so we're going to measure again. And it looks like that's a pretty good length. We're going to create the strap of our bag. So there's a few different ways that you can do this. You can do something very simple and you can just fold it in half and sew along the edge and you can have this nice little frayed look. You can take two pieces of this and you can sew it together, right sides facing and then flip it inside out, like I did right here. And I did this with a sweater material. The one that we're going to do is different than all of those. What we're going to do is we're going to take our fabric and we're going to fold the two pieces inward like this. And then we're going fold that in half. And we're going to have a nice, thin spaghetti strap. Because we have a small bag. So when you have a small bag, you don't really want this huge, bulky strap. And see, it's very easy to fold this as you go. You just kind of fold it in as you go.
