LAUREN FARRAHER: My name is Lauren, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm here to talk to you about curly hair updos that you can do at home. Since we already did this top ponytail, you can see that it still got separation between the ponytails. So what you're going to do is continue to kind of piece those. This top section, you're going to want to really work on filling in those gaps, lifting the hair up in order to get it to fill in those areas where you're going to miss. And those ponytails are automatically going to create some separation. Now again, you can use your crisscross patterns on your bobby pins in order to lock them into place. Another good way to fill in the gaps is if you just simply lift the ponytail, flip it over and you can actually just pin that ponytail up and start it off a little bit higher. So that way, if you do have a large gap between the ponytails which may happen between finer hair, you're already starting to kind of fill in those gaps. So now, if Ashley wanted to, she could--we could put these two pieces in and she could just have a bit of a fancier ponytail without worrying about much of anything else. She could just kind of fill it in like that. But ultimately, we are going--this is more of an elegant look so I'd like to just kind of piece it out. You want to make sure also that the sides of your head are even. You don't want your updo to be lopsided unless that's the look that you're going for. You do want it even on both sides and it must be symmetrical.
