Cookware & Equipment For Making Jambalaya: Part 1

Hi! This is Dave for the Big Easy Catering Company in Santa Barbara, California and expertvillage.com. We’re making jambalaya today, and I wanted to show you some of the equipment that you will need for a large quantity of people. However, you can do this on a stove top for your friends, for 10 or 12 people…that would be fine too. But this is all the big stuff. So we start out with a propane tank, that you can of course buy at any gas station, I would imagine, and Home Depot that type of thing, also a regulator. Now, this one supplies a lot more gas for a rig such as this, which I will show in just a moment. You can get these at RV places. They do a lot more gas, so that the flame is a lot higher, you can cook things a lot more quickly. Of course the hose, that goes to what I call the blast burner, now this is very nice for outdoor only of course, and then we have the big jambalaya pot, and then we have a spoon for stirring that, you will probably want to use wood, if you use anything wooden spoon, if you use anything inside. We have measuring spoons, we have a can opener, a sharp chef’s knife, a measuring cup and a cutting board and we can all get started up.
