Fresh Power Balls in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi, I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. Now, we want to time this right because the power balls only have a short lifespan, and if we don't have a fresh power ball when we do this, it's not going to work for us. So what we need to do is to be able to hit both buttons and time it so that we have a fresh power ball and time it so that we can replace our portals at the right time. So now, we've got an entrance and an exit for the power ball. It goes across and gets into the conduit. So what we did there was we had our portal set up so that we could quickly go from one switch to the next because they are time sensitive. We had to hit them both to open both of the doors, and then we had to quickly shoot new portals for the ball to go in and to come out of to go into the power conduit to activate the elevator which will allow us to leave the test chamber. You can tell that things are starting to get pretty difficult here in the Aperture Science Center and most of the challenges from here on out require both a lot of thought and careful planning and careful timing.
