Moving Elevators in Orange Box's Portal

JOHN SEXTON: Hi, I'm John Sexton on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we're going to be learning how to play Portal, a game by Valve Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. So now, we see that we've got a moving elevator puzzle here and a dangerous floor. So what we have to do is use the portals quickly in succession to get to the other side. So we can put an entrance anywhere. We'll put one right here, and then we'll put our first exit portal right here. Now, we can watch and see when an elevator's coming so we know when it's safe. We can hurry up and get on that elevator and make ourselves a new entrance. We can jump onto that one and quickly shoot another exit portal, put an exit right there, and now we can put our entrance anywhere and pop out and now we're safe from the dangers of that part. So we can see here that we've got our power ball dispenser, an elevator, a door that's blocking a power ball receptacle and another elevator over here. So we'll go ahead and get on this one, and it'll take us up to the first button which opens the first of the doors. We can see across the way that there's another button that opens the second door. So we want to get our portals set up so that we can open both of them quickly.
