Use a Razor for Texture: Short Hair Styles for Men

Hi! I am Liz Muller from Liz’s Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida. And I am going to wet Paul’s hair a little bit because I am going to show you that there are different tools in cutting, not only just the scissors; but you can use thinning shears or razors and the scissors in different forms to texturize the hair to maybe thin out the curls, thin out the hair, thin out the bulk, okay so, we have, see, different kinds of tools. This is a razor and we can take sections of the hair and just by gliding the hair down like that, gliding it this way, you are going to go ahead and create a thinning in the hair or texturizing in the hair. Okay you can do it a quarter inch from the root out, you know, you can do it in the ends of the hair, towards the end of the hair to just texture the ends; you can do it this way, as you choose to give it a shape; you can actually do a whole haircut with a razor. It just gives a whole different style, whole different dimension. So you just want to come along, measuring, maybe getting the hair up and cutting it in different forms with your razor; pushing your razor out, changing the blade, if it is a little dull you can change the blades. There is also different guards; that way when you cut you can have different kinds of lengths in your razor cut.
