Cutting the Sides: Short Hair Styles for Men

Hi! I am Liz Muller from Liz’s Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida. As you see I cut Paul’s hair on the back and it is a short layered cut, just a basic layered cut in the back of his head. He has got some layers back here; it is a little longer here, going short as it goes on to the bottom. You can have it all even to going like from the same length here all the way down. I decided to do it a little shorter down here. He has curly hair, so as you see it is kind of short, turning in and flipping but that’s okay; I will show you what to do with that later, but right now I am going to go to the sides of the head and show you what to do with the side and the top in this haircut. And by proceeding to do that, what I would do is, I would show you right here a section of the hair, bringing it over taking this hair down, measuring it with a last piece in the back like that. And bringing the scissors straight across (like I said this is a very basic haircut) straight across like that. Taking the next section and doing the same thing measuring it all the way like this to the last piece in the back and like that.
