How to Add Glitter to Polymer Clay Beads

Hi, I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make a beautiful necklace out of polymer clay. In this next step we are going to add glitter to the purple beads. This is a optional step, you don't have to do this. But if you want a little bit of added sparkle, you go out in the sunshine a lot and you like the way that sparkley things look, this is a step that you may want to add. So you are going to pour out a small amount of glitter on your work area. Spread it across the page. You want to keep it kind of far away from where you are working on everything else because glitter would stick to everything. Then you want to take your purple beads and you want to just gently roll over. Now you only want to go about once or twice over each one. You don't want it to be to filled with glitter because then every time you put it on/put your necklace on you are going to end up with glitter all over your neck. You want to press down not too hard. Not hard enough to smash the bead but hard enough that the glitter sticks. You don't want the glitter to be completely smush inside of the clay. The glitter gets completely smashed inside the clay then you are not going to see the sparkle part of it. The clay is going to almost eat the glitter, it is going to suck it right in and you are not going to see any of the sparkle part of the glitter.
