How to Make Round Polymer Clay Beads

Hi, I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make a beautiful necklace out of polymer clay. So the next step is we are going to make our beads. This is a little simple bead making device you can make oval beads, you can make round beads, and you can make diamond shape beads. The way that you do it is you take a little chunk of clay and you select which shape you want. Round, oval or diamond. Then you simply run the top across a few times and you end up with a bead. The old fashion way is to take a little piece of clay roll it around with the palm of your hand or finger what ever is more comfortable until you get a desired shape. This would be round, then you would make a hole in it. You can use anything that you want to make a hole. This is actually a corn holder this is what I think works best for me. This is how you make a bead the old fashion way. You can see it is a beautiful little colorful bead. But since I have this handy device here I'm going to go ahead and use this. What we are going to do is we are going to first cut our clay into pieces all about the same mass. Some could be a little longer, some could be a little shorter but as long as they have the same mass. So the same amount pretty much. We are going to put it in the round thing, put the slider into position and we have a perfectly round beautiful green bead.
