Understand 7th Chord Progressions for Piano

MIKE LAIS: Hi, I'm Mike Lais. And on behalf of Expert Village, this is playing piano 7th chords. All right. So there was an example of using all dominant chords for the blues. But if you want a progression using all the 7th chords, we're going to do a I, VI, IV, V to get this sort of a feel. And what we're going to do, we're going to start off in root position again. We'll just stay in the key of C, just for consistency. But we're going to do a I, right? And then we're going to go to the VI, but we're going to play just like this for the minor 7. We're going to do the minor 7--I'll take off my left hand for now--the minor 7 in first inversion, then we're going to go to the IV and we're going to play that in second inversion. Then we're going to do a major 7th, and then we're going to go to the V right here, but we're going to do that in second inversion, but we're going to play it dominant. So it's going to be I major 7, vi minor 7, IV major 7, and then there's going to be a V dominant 7. So it's going to look like this. And that's chord progression using all of your voicings.
