MIKE LAIS: Hi, I'm Mike Lais. And on behalf of Expert Village, this is playing piano 7th chords. So the minor 7th chord, we're going to do the first inversion this time, which is starting out on the third of the chord and then spelling it up just as you would. So your notes are 1, flat 3, 5, flat 7. We're going to start on the flat 3. So if we have our minor 7th chord, a C minor 7, 1, flat 3, 5, flat 7, we're just going to take the root and put it on the top of the chord. So we're going to play flat 3, 5, flat 7 and the root. Okay? So that's going to be that. This--I know this right now, the sound is like it could be a major chord or the E--in this case, an E flat major with your 6 on it. But if you throw the base note in there with your left hand, that's just going to be simply your minor 7th chord, first inversion. So again, that's taking the root, putting in on the top of the chord, and then we're going to spell it, flat 3, 5, flat 7, 1. That's your first inversion, minor 7th.
