MIKE LAIS: Hi, I'm Mike Lais. And on behalf of Expert Village, this is playing piano 7th chords. All right. So now, we're talking about the minor 7th chords versus the major 7th chords. And with the minor 7th, the characteristics are the flat 3 and the flat 7. So let's play an example of that. Okay, so just for everybody who didn't watch the videos before, the major 7th chord is with the major 7ths, 1, 3, 5, major 7th. That's a C major 7. If we're going to do a C minor 7, we just have to flat the 3 and flat the 7. So we're going to do 1, flat 3, 5, flat 7. That's a root position, minor 7th chord. And just--you want to spell it out in a different key, let's say we're going to go to the key of E minor, which is simply going to be 1, flat 3, 5, flat 7. It's always the same. Right? One, flat 3, 5, flat 7. So bringing it back to C, play it in block form, this is the root position, minor 7th chord.
