Jazz Style Writing for A Cappella Music

Hello my name is Duane Carter and on behalf of expertvillage.com I'm talking about writing for A Capella on ensemble. The jazz style is a very difficult style to write for a A Capella group. Basically because you are imitating musical instruments. It is highly rhythmic and harmonically complex and whats so strange about it or wonderful about it is that the rhythms are usually independent of one another. Where as it is important that they are harmonically because the harmony is dependent upon on another of the different voices. Often times since there rhythms are separated it becomes necessary that they outline the harmonic structure of the tune. We are going to listen to a example of a jazz style A Capella writing.
