You're learning the basic in Bachata. We did the side basic, the front and back basic, we showed you the turns, now we're going to show you the sexy part. Don't be alarmed just because it's, you know, a girl and a girl. So our, of our basic, two, three, four, five, six, seven. We're going to come into a little bit of a closer position, and that's the in place step. Did you see both of us were down? We were low in the ground, we were doing a lot more body movement because we were lower. How do I lead that? First thing that I do, even through I'm in a closed position, I'm giving her a lot of space. When I want to do the step without moving, I actually bring her a little bit closer, and I drop. I drop myself with her and I stop her. She wants to move again because we were just doing a basic and she's ready to move to the right. I actually stop her with this part of my arm and I bring her down with me. She has nothing else to do but follow, because I have a good frame. Again, we're going, step, step, step, here's our basic, now into the drop, I do down two, three, and five, six, seven, and. Notice, I've added a little leg. So, when you're with a partner and you're dancing in place, you have two choices. You have the first choice, the outside leg of the leader can come up first and then, subsequently, her outside leg can come up. Or, you're second choice is, the way I showed in the previous clip, you can just do the kick. Kick back, kick back. Either way is fine and if one partner does one and the other partner does the other, it's fine as long as you don't kick each other. Let me smooth everything now. From the basic, it goes one, two, three, and five, six, seven, and. in place two, three, first kick. We'll do one more time with the other kick, two, three, kick, two, three, kick. Into a basic again. That's your basic Bachata, not moving, getting down. One other thing I just want to point out quickly is in order for this to work, you can't be directly in front of her, you have to shift. The reason for that is, her foot has to be in the center of me and my foot has to be in the center of her. That avoids your knees. Notice when we bend our knees, our knees are placed in between each other. If we were standing straight in front and we bend down, our knees would hit. I think that's it. Try it, it's really fun.
