Receiving Attacks In Preparation When Sabre Fencing

JASON SHERIDAN: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Jason Sheridan of Sheridan Fencing Academy here in New York City. Today, we're going to talk about advanced sabre fencing. We're making feint attack, of course. You're opening yourself up to the possibility of receiving attack in preparation. This is something they will practice as well. One side is making attack. She can either go directly to head or feint to the head and cut to the flank. The other side can make parry-riposte as before or if she suspects your opponent is trying to make feint, you can try to hit her in preparation. In this case, the attack preparation was successful. Let's go again. In this case, the feint attack was successful. Let's go again. This time, her feint was not successful. Emma knew that it was a feint and made a later parry 3, and made riposte.
