JASON SHERIDAN: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Jason Sheridan of Sheridan Fencing Academy here in New York City. Today, we're going to talk about advanced sabre fencing. Once you are able to control the distance, and this isn't something that's terribly easy and takes the most amount of work, there's a wide range of things you can do. One such thing is to vary your attacks by making feints. Watch carefully. What a feint is you are pretending to make an attack to one area so that your opponent will, in this case, for example, parry and cutting somewhere else instead. In this case, Emma is going to feint the head and cut the flank. Notice as she's feinting, her arm is coming out. Her tip is way up in the air, and she's getting closer, threatening the target with the attack. One more time, Emma makes the attack again. Hitting while Rachel is taking the parry. See it. Now from Rachel's end, Rachel makes the attack. Okay. One more time. The idea is that she feels the threat is real. Bravo.
