Alright, now let's talk a little bit about the connections on your laptop. This is of course a basic home electronic that you will have in and out of your house, but let's talk about some of the features that most of the laptops nowadays will have on the back. So just in case you ever wondered, all these little gills here on both sides and sometimes on the other sides of the actual laptop are actually your breathing area for your processor or video card, things like that that you'll have. So never obstruct these with even clothing. If you are going to put this on your lap, try to have something underneath it such as a book or even one of those little fan tables that you can put laptops on. Your laptops do need to breathe to avoid overheating and burning something inside of your laptop, such as your motherboard or video card or processor, so let them breath. This is just the power adaptor. Of course this will be different depending on the brand. Some of them will have a plug that looks slightly different than the other, but this is your standard one. This is the one on the specific Dell unit right here, so you go ahead and plug this in and this will give you of course your power. Right here we have a standard VGA out. This can be plugged into your TV if it's capable, whether it's an LCD or some type of high-definition rear-projection TV, you can actually plug in your standard VGA output. So this is if you want to use an external monitor, and even have 2 monitors set up using the monitor on your laptop and having an external monitor to give you a multi-monitor setup. This is pretty much the same exact thing. This is a DVI, or digital video interface. This will give you a high definition output, whether you're going to put it on a TV or a really fancy computer LCD monitor or LCD HDTV, so they'll both give you the multiple monitor out. This one will give you a little bit better picture than your standard VGA. On this particular unit, I also have some USBs in the back. I actually have 4 of them here, so most people do know how to plug in your USBs. This one actually has a hub built in, like I said, with 4 individual inputs here. We still have our phone jack even though a lot of people of course don't use dial-up anymore and use the high speed. With high speed, you can use your Ethernet plug right here which is your CAT5, or of course if your laptop has wireless you can use wireless. If you are going to have to use a wired connection, which is sometimes a little bit faster, you can go ahead and plug this into here. If you do need to make something that has to do with the phone, even if you want to fax from your computer, you can actually use your phone jack right here. Then in this particular unit also, we have an S-video out. This is good for presentations for people that are doing things as far as business and you want to have a PowerPoint presentation onto either a big screen or some type of projector. A lot of them will have an S-video input, so you'll just get a standard S-video cable just like you would for your DVD player or television, plug it into here, plug it into your projector and you will have your computer's output from this. If you do have the option in your projector or TV to do a DVI or VGA, I'd recommend these first. It will give you a clearer picture, but if you don't and you just have your standard TV or whatever you're going to plug it into, go ahead and use an S-video. So these are the basic connections into your laptop. So keep that in mind. Let it breath, and then use the appropriate cables you need whenever you're doing whatever you're going to be doing.
