Overview of Hair Braiding

Hi, my name is Lauren and on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to show you how to achieve various styles through using regular braids. Just remember, as we have gone through a lot of these different braids and the uses of braids, that braids are a little bit more, and can do a little bit more for you than just create a braided look for a day. You can use them to set your hair; you can use them to add a little bit of funk to your hair. To transform your everyday pony tail, create a different look, something a little bit more unique so that way you're not walking around exactly like everybody else. It's important to remember with braids is really just to have fun with it. Try out different things. Try them out and go out with them. Try them out and sit in your house with them. However you feel more comfortable. The more you practice, the more you play, and the more creativity you put into it, the better and more ideas you're gonna come up with. The more creative looks you're going to have. Now the weight of your hair is still gonna be the same so the actual, you may not receive the headache that you would from normal up do's due to excessive bobby pins, partings, and weight being put in one general area. However, the tension of a lot of braids may pull on your hair and scalp so it's important if you are tender scalped, to try to adjust the tension so that way it's not hurting you. If you do need a tighter braid for the day, I do suggest you maybe take some Tylenol just to kind of counteract that headache before it begins.
