CHRISTIE OWNES: Hi, my name is Christie and I'm with Expert Village. And I'm teaching you proper care of fish today and a little bit about the different types of fish. And now, we're going to talk about another important tool that you need to use to do water changes with your fish tanks. This device that I have in my hand is called a python. The reason why it's called a python is because it is a long hose that you attach to your sink that you use to do water changes with. To attach the python to your kitchen sink, you want to remove the nozzle at the end of your faucet as I'm doing here to unscrew it. Set it aside so that you don't lose it. Leave the washer inside of your faucet head end 'cause if you don't sometimes, it gets lost. Your python also comes with a piece right here that hooks up to your kitchen sink. This is a very important part because this is what creates the water suction and the water flow to your tank. What you'll do is attach it to the end of your faucet as I'm doing here, attach it so that it cannot turn it any further. If you don't have a very good attachment to your sink, water will go spring out all over you and the floor. And while you're doing water changes, you might walk back in to find your kitchen floor or your bathroom whichever you prefer to use. Preferably, the kitchen sink because it offers a little bit more water flow. But in that area, you might find a flooded floor if you don't make sure that your python head is attached to your sink properly. Once you get this device attached to your sink, you're going to grab the end of your python hose that I have here and you're going to attach it to this end of the sink as I will demonstrate. Sometimes, depending on the way that your end of your faucet comes out, you may have to weigh down the end of your hose as this one 'cause if I don't, it pulls my python head back this way which loosens this which will spray water out everywhere. So, I'm going to turn it back like it needs to, wrap it around my faucet handle to give support so that it won't turn back this way. This is a nice invention that come anywhere between a twenty-five foot hose to fifty foot hose. On my python, I have a twenty-five foot hose with a twenty-five foot extension on it because I didn't have some other tanks in the house that are not close in my living room, some of them being in my bedroom which I need a little bit longer hose to reach back there. But those are different tanks that we're not going to talk about today because it involve a little bit more care and a little bit more upkeep than a freshwater tank does.
