Cutting the Liner for Tab Top Curtains

Hi, welcome to Expert Village, I'm Gretchen Soares with Butterfly Boutique. Okay, so these curtains are going to be lined, so what we have here is blackout lining. We're going to roll it out because it's all still on the bolt from the store. Roll it out to cut out the lining pieces. And we want to just drop that straight down to the floor so that now it's nice and straight, the salvages are all lined up. We're going to go in half one more time and we're going to match this fold line up to the salvages. So what we're going to do is we're going to straighten the bottom of this again. Now we have all four edges included in the cut. Now since this is the lining, we don't want it to be as long as the curtains were and we ended up with a seventy inch finished curtain and we have a four inch hem allowance. So we're going to make this two inches shorter, so we want it to finish at sixty-eight inches and we're only going to put a two inched rolled hem in this one. So we're going to add four inches and we are going to cut it at seventy-two inches long. Measuring seventy-two inches. Now we have our lining piece.
