Hi, I'm Bobby on behalf of Expert Village. In this series I am going to show you several different ways that you could easily light a fire within your fireplace and I am going to show you several safety techniques and things that you should be aware of when lighting a fire in your house. So I am ready to actually start my fire now. We talked about several different ways that we could start it whether we used one of these artificial fire sticks. I am going to use a light the traditional way and that is by kindling in here. I've got two large pieces of firewood in here and I am just going to drop down the kindling down the middle of it. Then I am going to take my letter and light one end of it. Kindling is a soft wood and the wood that I am going to burn is a harder wood so kindling should light pretty quickly. Starting to burn there. I wouldn't advise putting paper in your fireplace. It just causes a mess inside your fireplace and actually it doesn't burn very long either. So that is already started to go there. I am just going to let it do its thing for a couple of minutes and probably here in about 3 or 4 minutes, we are going to have a good fire going. I can go ahead, now that I can see it is actually going, I am going to put one more piece up on top and that is going to lock the heat in and once again, I am going to allow just for a little ventilation, the heat is still locked in there. Here we go, in a couple of minutes we will have a blazing fire. So now my fire is going pretty well and I just want to make sure that the screen is shut that makes it nice and safe. Now it is time to enjoy the fire.
