Reverse Mixing Tips for DJs

Hi everyone. I'm DJ Shy and this is Expert Village. I am going to show you how to mix by a couple of tricks. One is called reverse and another one is called talk-over. The first one, reverse, I'm going to show you an example of when you have one song playing and you're going to reverse the current song into a new song. You do that simply by putting your hand on the record and reversing it back like a back spin. Let me show you an example. That was an example of a reverse spin. Another way to transition from one song to the next is by using your mic. When you're finished with a song you can make an announcement by slowly using your channel volume and bringing it down then you can make your announcement and say, "Hey I want to give a happy birthday shout-out to Cindi, who's over there, who just turned twenty-one." Then play your song. That's just another way of how to transition from one song to the next.
