Hi, I'm Bobby on behalf of Expert Village. Everyone loves having a warm fireplace on a cold winter day. The downside to that is that you have to clean the fireplace. In this series we are going to show you how to clean the inside of your fireplace, your chimney and even repaint the inside of your fireplace to make it look new. In the previous clip I talked about having a professional chimney sweeper come and clean your chimney for you. If that is really not an option for you, you can also buy its similar to a fire log, a couple of different versions on the market and what you do is put it in your fireplace and burn it like you would a regular piece of firewood. That will loosen the creosote in your chimney which can actually catch on fire and perhaps burn your whole house down. So if you do that perhaps once a year or every couple of months depending on how much you use your fireplace, that will dry up the creosote in the fireplace and in your chimney and create a safe environment for you to continue to burn fire in your house.
