Cleaning a Chimney

Hi, I'm Bobby on behalf of Expert Village. Everyone loves having a warm fireplace om a cold water day. The downside to that is you have to clean the fireplace. In this series we are going to tell you how to clean the inside of your fireplace, your chimney and even repaint the inside of your fireplace to make it look new. Okay we've thoroughly cleaned and repainted the inside of our fireplace. There is one more thing that you might want to think about and it is your chimney. When you burn fire in your fireplace, creosote burns up on the inside of your chimney. Now creosote is flammable and every once in a while you will want to have a professional chimney sweeper come and clean out the inside of your chimney. I wouldn't suggest you try and do this yourself because first of all there is a lot of tools involved and you will probably spend more money buying the tools to do it yourself than you will hiring a professional to do it. Second of all, it will be kind of dangerous because you will have to actually get up on top of your roof and you run the risk of falling off your roof. You also run the risk of pushing ashes and dust down into your house and creating a huge mess and in the long run, it would have been better to hire a professional.
