Cleaning a Fireplace with a Cloth

Hi, I'm Bobby on behalf of Expert Village. Everyone loves having a warm fireplace on a cold winter day. The downside to this is you have to clean the fireplace. In this series we are going to tell you how to clean the inside of your fireplace, your chimney and even repaint the inside of your fireplace to make it look new. Okay so we've cleaned, vacuumed the inside of my fireplace out but there is still just a little it of residue in there even after vacuuming. So my next step to get this really clean because eventually you want to paint this is to get a damp cloth and I'm just going to wipe down all of the surfaces within the fireplace. Get all the nooks and crannies and you can see that there is quite a bit of soot and grind left over even after vacuuming. So I am just going to wipe down all of the surfaces. It is not a bad idea to have a bucket of water next to you so that you can rinse your rag out. Once you rinse it out, you can go at it again. Just continue to wipe down all the surfaces within the fireplace. We are trying to get all the soot, all the grind, everything out of there to have a really clean surface to paint on later.
