The last trick of this series I'm going to talk about is outside throws versus inside throws. Now almost all of what I've shown you so far, using 5, 3 as an example, are with inside throws. But you can also do it as an outside throw, which creates a very different visual effect. This goes for any of the patterns I've shown you up to this point. Especially things that involve straight throws might look interesting, if you have good enough peripheral vision, if you throw them outside to the point where they're almost framing the pattern as opposed to inside as part of it. A seven throw would be hard to throw as an outside throw, but might create an interesting and more dynamic arc if you're doing the trick consistently switching back and forth. 5, 3 is again, the best example for use of the outside throw, as it can change the speed and the way the trick looks entirely as opposed to the inside. This is inside, this is outside. Getting good at outside throws in either direction will also help you train for a four ball shower which is pretty fast and pretty hard and involves a similar arc.
