We want to show you another basic cumbia step that you can do. This is more of the side to side. Earlier I had mentioned, that the side to side step of the couples resembled the ocean. Here it is. It actually starts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Remember if we wanted to add the kick, we could and we can speed it up a little bit. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3. We can be in one hand open position. 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. It's a basic step. You're just stepping. As I reviewed in the clip before, the steps are the same. The only change is the follower is actually going to be starting with the right foot. The leader is going to be starting with the left now so that we're mirroring each other. Step. If we're in a really open position, you can cross it over, step, kick, step, cross, step, kick, step, cross, step, kick, step, cross, step, kick. That's it. Now you have the cumbia, the other 2 most basic cumbia steps. Stay tuned. In our next clip, we're going to get into some turns.
