Hi again! My name is Christina Haggerty. This is Miriam. We are at Silhouette's and we are teaching you cumbia. What we're going to start doing now is partnering. As you can see, I have a partner. I'm acting as a leader. Miriam is my follower. We're going to start just with that basic step. The basic step starts back and together, back and together, back, together, back, together. There's a couple of different ways that you can style this. First way, we're just switching hand in hand, hand in hand. However, you could also do back, and back, back, and back, or if you'd like, you can combine it. You can keep the hand here, back, and open, back and open. Of course, how it would look if we switched hands, it would go here, here, here, here, and here. That's the first basic cumbia step. The step is still the basic step that I explained earlier. I'll quickly review it. The first step is back, in place, together, there's a little bit of a pause, and then the other foot. Back, in place, together, back, in place, together. Notice there's a little bit of a pivot going on, meaning we're changing our shoulders because our feet our pivoting.
