Hi everyone, I'm DJ Shy here with Expert Village and I'd like to talk to you about speakers and monitors. Now you need obviously a sound to come out of your turntables. That's where the speakers come in. Like many different DJ equipment they vary in use and cost. I have a pair of JBL's it includes its own amp. It's a powered amp. So basically it comes with its own electrical plug and a cord that you connect from the speaker into the mixer so that you have sound. Now another, if you have speakers going out to the public you might want to use your own speaker for a monitor. A monitor is used by DJ's because they want to hear how they mix and Okay a monitor you would have close by. I don't have one here this is going out to the public but you can use a smaller speaker for your own personal use. So that you could have one ear to the monitor and the other ear to mix with in your headphone. So that is what a monitor does for DJ's and how to hook up a speaker.
