Hey everybody this is DJ Shy again telling you what to buy. O.k. now once you've done your research you want, you're ready to go out and get your gear. So I'm going to tell you the basics of what to get. You would need either two turntables which look like this. Or some people actually like to use cd's so there are things such, there are things such as cd turntables. So it's, it all depends on your preference if you wanna DJ with cd's or with vinyl. Preferably I would deal with vinyl. And you would also need a mixer. You will, you would only need one basic mixer. In addition to that in order to listen to what you're playing you need headphones. Headphones and two needles to attach your turntables to and additionally, optionally you would also need to get speakers. Nowadays with technology all major DJ's are moving to a new software program called Serato. Serato eliminates the bringing crates and crates of records. Serato looks like this. So basically like I said it's a software program where you can access all your mp3's and use it digitally to convert into records somehow. Don't ask me but it does. Another item that you will need in order to use your Serato program is a laptop. This is the laptop and this what the Serato program looks like. Where you can access all your mp3's, all the songs that you would ever need in order to play. So a laptop, Serato, two turntables, a mixer, two needles and a headphone, speakers and even a microphone. And that's basically what you need in order to DJ.
