How to Play "Layla" on the Guitar

JOE WILES: In this segment, we're going to talk about number 47 which is Eric Clapton's "Layla." Let's take a look at the guitar. The song starts out. Hit the open A string. Then, hammer your ring finger here onto the 3rd fret of that same string. Use your middle finger here on the 2nd of the G string here and we're actually going to hit the open B and this G string here. Okay? And way back down, we're going to hit the open D, 3rd fret A, and then, hit a power chord on the 1st fret of the A string, 3rd fret of D string, 3rd fret of the G string. Slide it up two frets, one, two, then, hit the lower half of the D chord, which is you open D string, 2nd fret G string, 3rd fret B string. Slowly and together, it sounds like this. Join us in our segment. We're going to take a look at number 46. I hope to see you there.
