How to Play the Second Half of "Sanitarium" on the Guitar

JOE WILES: We're going to continue. Let's take a look at the guitar. To review, the introduction to speed sounds like this...and then the three in a row. To continue with the rest of the introduction, we're going to make a two-fingered power chord. With the index finger, we're going to fret the 2nd fret of the A string right here. With our ring finger, we're on the 4th fret of the D string. We're going to hit the low four strings right in a row, one, two, three, four, like that, okay? Slide this little group up one fret. Your index finger is now on the 3rd fret, your ring finger is now on the 5th fret, hit them four in a row again. Slide this grouping up two frets, so you're on 5th and 7th. Now, we're going to slide our ring--I'm sorry--our index finger back down to the 4th fret and then we're going to use our middle finger on the 5th fret of the low E string, okay? The transition from this goes like this, okay? We're going to hit the lowest three strings now, slide it down two frets. Index finger on the 2nd fret of the A string, middle finger on the 3rd fret of the low E string, and then we're just going to slide up our middle finger back up to the 5th fret, and then hit the open D string. Okay? Slowly, the rest of that introduction sounds like this. And then we repeat. All together, the whole introduction, to speed, sounds like this. And that riff basically follows through to, I think, the first verse of that song. In the next video, we're going to take a look at number 55. I hope you'll join me.
