How to Play "Hells Bells" on the Guitar

JOE WILES: In this segment, we're going to take a look at number 58, which is "Hells Bells" by AC/DC. This is a very recognizable riff and relatively easy to learn. We're going to do a two-finger power chord right about here. We're going to put our ring finger on the 9th fret of the G string and we're going to put our index finger on the 7th fret of the D string. We're going to hit the open A string and come up to the G string, down to the D string. Those are the opening three notes for this song, okay? The next technique, we're going to actually want to pad with the pad of our finger, this part here, the 7th fret of the D and the G string, okay? So they're both being fretted, okay? So we're going to start here and then release our ring finger to the 7th fret of the G string. It sounds like this. Slide your index finger down two frets--one, two--to the 5th fret, back up, start over. In the very last bit, let's put our ring finger on the 5th fret of the D string and our index finger on the 3rd fret of the A string. We're only going to hit these two strings. Slide our index finger down one fret, and then take the pad of our index finger hitting the 2nd fret of the D and the G strings, and we're going to hit the open A, D, and G. All together, slowly, it sounds like this. To speed, it sounds like this. All right, click on the next segment and you'll get number 57, which is "Santeria" by Sublime. I'll see you there.
