Learn the Play of the Hand in Whist

We'll keep the other example. What is the plan here? We plan to knock out the trump, knock out the high cards. Hopefully find partner with a winner in diamonds. I'm just using this as an illustrative hand. We could add clubs and spades to this. If you happen to have less diamonds and maybe you have the king, queen of clubs you've got to depend on your partner. I mean, this is a partnership game and there is a lot of luck that comes into play. But skill is important to. What is the plan here? Well, you have seven hearts counting the joker. You have almost have of the trump suit in your hand. So the plan is to get the trumps out. You start out with the big joker maybe it'll catch an ace, maybe not. Then you continue with the king, queen, jack, ten or equal. You'll continue with the king. Hopefully, your partner will either, all your asking you partner to do is have the ace or the small joker. That's all you want. Ace of diamonds is superfluous because if he has either one of those two the most you're going to lose is one heart and one diamond. So get the trumps out then establish your side suit. Doesn't matter what the layout is unless you call a very weak trump. If you're calling high or low, you want to get the trump out, then cash out you side suit when you're in a typical two suited hand.
