How to Be an Expert Barbu Player

The basic premise of an expert player applies to any card game. Applies to any game at all, scrabble, chess, bridge, hearts. Becoming an expert Barbu player is the ability to read the plays of the opponent, and again we just touch on it, counting, trying to remember which cards have been played and understanding the probabilities which is another thing. You have to understand what are the probabilities that this person has this card, has that card. We are dealing with a fresh game, in other words fresh dealed game. We are not playing duplicate Barbu; I do not think duplicate Barbu exists. Another avenue for learning Barbu is 'The Complete Win at Barbu' available from Amazon.com. It is the only book on the game that has been written and it will be going into another printing in the spring of 2008. We hope that someday it is one of the "to-do" projects to add Barbu to grab.com; however, that is certainly down the road. In the mean time you can look at the other Barbu sites that are available on the internet. And if you do have a chance to play with friends then again it is kindred to what I just said in the previous segment: owning your game, playing with humans, and then going to an online site and watching and then playing with the advanced players who usually reside at those sites and then eventually going to a bridge tournament. You must have versatility in all of the games and you must have the ability to play cards at a high level. This is a tremendously advanced game but can be a lot of fun for players of all abilities. Play Barbu and have fun.
