They come in all sizes and shapes. Here is a typical suite, well could not be typical but here is king, jack, ten. Same thing, we have a lead coming over here, I love that lead. Firstly if the ace pops up here or here I am assured of at least my king so that I do not have to worry about that. But if the queen comes out here then my king will take it and I will then take a second trick later. The only problem that occurs is that if it goes, if it is from here and you know if we get a small card then I wind up winning the ten and I have a shot at getting the ace or the queen, I mean not the ace or the queen depending on where it is located. Unfortunately it becomes a little tougher here because if I play the ace and he plays small I have a pure guess. If I choose to go up with the king and the ace is over here then I am going to loose the queen. I prefer the play of the ten if he plays a smaller diamond, a seven. I would prefer to play the ten. Now I am hoping that the ace and queen are here or that maybe he under let it. There is nothing that I can do if the ace and queen are reposing over here, nothing not a thing. I would have lost them no matter how I played the hand. But if they are over here, I have the opportunity in this layout to take two tricks. So familiarize yourself with the finessing positions it makes a big difference and can get you an awful lot of tricks or even an awful lot of avoidance, particularly in the trump hands.
