Selecting Paper for Origami Bird of Paradise

Now we are going to make a bird of paradise. A bird of paradise is a traditional Japanese origami and it is usually made from these smaller sheets of origami paper that I'm not going to use. We are going to use a bigger sheet and what we are going to have to do is we are going to have to get a triangle out of this. The best way of going to get a triangle is to take our sheet and bisect it like so. Making sure our corners are good and straight. We are going to crease here and crease it again with my fingernail to make sure that it is good. Now what I'm going to do is we are going to fold it from this corner and this corner to this corner in a triangle like so. You want to make sure this is very very accurate. We would start here and get this corner the way I want it first, get this corner way out next. Just kind of get the paper until it forms these corners together. We would go ahead and crease it really a whole lot.
