Hi, this is Ryan Gwilliam with Expert Village and I'm going to teach you to make your dog heal. So when you're walking with your dog if he tries to pull ahead you give him a quick correction. You pull him back slightly if he gets ahead of you, and you just pull on him. Give him it's a very firm tug, but as soon as he's back into position I let go. Because if you are constantly pulling him like this and he has all that tension he gets very confused and he thinks your punishing him, so he doesn't know what you are trying to do. So you just wait for him to get ahead of you and give him a pull up. You try and pull up and not back because back creates that tension and pulling up or you can pull to the side is what's going to help him understand the best of what you're trying to accomplish. And then if he looks to the left or the right I will also give him a quick correction left and right so that he knows he needs to stay in position and concentrate on me the whole time.
I've watched so many training videos and got discouraged because I wasn't seeing results. But a few months ago, I found Ryan's training series and am so grateful. His simple, calm methods were exactly what I needed to train my poodle into the wonderful girl she is now. I can't thank expert village and Ryan enough for uploading these priceless videos!
