How to Blend the Rails on a Surfboard

ABE TOKE: Hi. Welcome to Expert Village, my name is Abe Toke. I'm going to take you through step by step to shape yourself a complete surfboard. We've got a sanding pad here. It's really lightweight and flimsy, and a piece of sanding screen that probably was used for a dry wall. It's something to get yourself at the hardware store, but it helps blend these rails out really easy. Kinda hold it along. The ridge lines, again, it's mainly what I'm after. In the lighting, you kinda see the old marks, so I'm trying to get rid of those. Maybe do two or three along the top. With this bottom edge, do the same thing. You could start either side. It doesn't really matter, whatever you prefer. Definitely, you don't want to touch this tail part of the board. I want to keep that edge nice and square and hard. When I get to this tail part of the board, I kinda just straighten it off.
